Sometimes even Homer Simpson gets more lathe time than me-

Thanks to Greg Aksdal for supplying the picture!

As implied, no lathe time this week. When we got home, dove right in where I left off on Mimi's deck furniture. The lounger is finished- still needs some final sanding. The "War Department" is currently deciding on the color of finish. Will post some pix in the woodworking section.

Yesterday an email arrived from David Reed Smith. The Needle Case is kind of a neat generic project that just might sell at a craft show. What I found really interesting was some of the chucks he used. Although I have seen compression chucks available for purchase, this is the first time I have seen them home made. In one of Mr. Reed's previous articles, he describes how to match tapers. So, figuring out how to match the Morris Taper of your lathe is already done.

Mr. Smith's projects are always interesting and his tutorials are easy to follow. Have a look!!

Hope to see some of your projects this week. How about some input from some of our newer site members?!
