May 3, 201214 yr Most of the work is finished. Still needs some sanding and the finish- which is yet to be decided but it will be stain not paint as these pieces are made from cedar. All the joints are glued with Titebond III. Hardware is either coated outdoor screws or plated lag bolts. The Chairs- Our crack Product Testing Department puts the chaise lounger through its' paces. Notice the "Hearts"! Why? Well, in our house, two hearts beat as one.  Now before you guys get all sappy on me, I overheard Mimi tell this to the neighbor lady. She said it took her years to get that planted in my head. Thanks for looking. Will post an update when the finish is "finished".  Lew Kauffman-Wood Turners Forum HostTime traveler. Purveyor of the world's finest custom rolling pins!

May 3, 201214 yr I do Lew. I'll get back with ya tonight, I have the stain in my shop and I need to dig it out and get the name off it. It is an exterior stain/finish, I used it on my kids play set when I first built it 8 years ago, and the play set finally needed a recoating about a year ago, so it went about 7 years looking good, and that's with sprinklers on everyday during the summer, blistering heat, and direct sun all year. I'll get the name of it tonight, and you can throw it in with your research.Lewis Kauffman said:Mimi is looking at different tinted stains- any suggestions?John Morris said:Lew Kauffman-Wood Turners Forum HostTime traveler. May 4, 201214 yr Author Larry, The plan for the lounger came from an old Sunset Magazine from the 1990's. I found a picture of the chairs online and used the dimensions from our old ones to create a Sketchup drawing. The new ones turned out slightly smaller than the old ones but they work OK. If I were to do it over, I would tilt the back more (these are 5°) and raise the seat a couple of inches.  Larry Buskirk said: Very nice Lew, Where did you find the plans, or did you just play it by ear?  Larry Old Woodworking Machinery Forum Host
