Myself I am glad that it is getting warm again and the birds are singing away and the cat is getting frisky.

I am working on a few bowls for family this weekend one is almost to the finish point and a few to go.

I believe that this is spalted Maple and is about 4.5" OD at the widest point.

So what are you working on this weekend?

This website is new so it doesn't have much to it yet but you are welcome to take a look :)

Looking good Charles. The pattern in the wood looks very nice. Be careful using spalted wood with food. Sealing it can be a problem. Spalting is a fungus and I've found it does not remain stable and has gotten softer over time. It may be my technique but I'd look into it to be on the safe side.

Today my son and I installed a new 200 amp load center for my nephew and at some point I need to start sorting oak for a trash can holder for my wife.  Never ends does it?

Nothing shop related for me this past week or this weekend as I have been recovering from pneumonia. I was on heavy antibiotics and steroids for a week to knock it out but then it has taken all of this week to get the stuff to work out of my system as it was still making me a bit fuzzy and weak. Today was the first day that I really started to feel normal. So my wife and I went out to breakfast and then went to see the new movie "The Avengers" which was really good. After we got home I got the lawn mowed and everything cleaned up. Tomorrow is church and then relaxing with the family. Monday I hope to get back into the shop and get to work on my adirondack chair prototype.

today my son and i worked on making the exterior walls in one of our bedrooms in our house into 2x6's from 2x4's.  demoed out the drywall, installed new furing studs, and got it almost all insulated.

No woodworking but I just dragged my tired old butt in the house after spending the last 10 hours cooking spaghetti, sauce, meatballs and french bread at the annual "Honor The Veterans Dinner". Not sure how many we served but we went through over 70 pounds of pasta. Thank goodness for the local Girl Scout troop who served the meals and helped cleanup. I hate spaghetti!

Well I was out of pocket on Friday and thought sure Fred would put up my Friday post. I have been quite busy with family the past week. I did get to do my First Friday Craft show on Friday night. Sold five cutting boards. Had a large crowd and it was a great night out. A bit of the warm side at the beginning being 89 at 5:00 in the evening. I am so glad my booth is on the shady side of the street.

I got a few bread dipping boards made and added to the table. This one is curly maple and walnut. Sorry about the pictures, they were made with the iPad camera so they are not all that good.

Yesterday I got my templates made for the porch swings I am starting. I should get started cutting out the pieces tomorrow night right after I empty the dust collector.

I also started a special order cutting board this afternoon. Got the first glue up tonight and hope to get it cut and in the end grain glue up tomorrow night. This board will be 24 x 16. Will try to get some pictures tomorrow night.

About it for me, missed being on the site this past week, but I hope I am back to a more normal schedule.
