May 13, 201214 yr  get out to the Pole Barn Woodshop today, finally, at 3:30 pm.    I had a funeral Service to attend first.    I started to add some skirts to this bench.   I had some 2x10s for an old waterbed.    The long side piece were just about all I needed to wrap the bench in skirts.   got to cover up those "Naked Legs", right?  I installed one side using screws into the benchtop, and the legs.  Next, the other sideTool well end showing here.   Next, I tried my hand at some dovetails for one endNot the greatest ones around.  I also added screws into the legs, from the end skirts.  I also started to plane the top down to match the tops of the skirt boards.   I didn't like the dovetails on that end, so, the toolwell end was just a butt joint, with glue and screws.   Went i do go back out to the wood shop, I need to make "levelers" for those ugly legs.   Bench has a "Rock & Roll Sole" right now.  Added a shim to two of the legs, so the bench will sit still on this spot in the floor.  Pole Barn floors aren't the flattest things around.  Another look at the bench, and a little showing off... and a Buck Brothers #5 jack plane, all tuned upNice saturday afternoon.... May 14, 201214 yr Author  Hey,I still have a couple of those 4x6 beams left!   might just split anther one down to make a "Leg Vise'.  Of cours, instead of one of those big screws, I'll just rig a pipe clamp for now.   Still need a bottom shelf to store items on, that should use up one, maybe both of those 2x10s I have left.   Tool well: Undecided about just a plywood bottom to it, OR, route a rebate ( that is the Proper term) around the four edges, and install a plastic tub like thingy.  Clean-up would then be a matter of dumping the tub out, once a month or so.  'and may the road raise up to meet ye'

May 14, 201214 yr Author  I happen to have TWO woodshops, thank you.    Back porch Shop for light work, and Re-habs.     The big power tools stay out at the barn.   Neighbors wouldn't like the Franckensaw running nearby.  I can do some prep work at either place, as well.    Best of both "worlds'.  'and may the road raise up to meet ye'
