Since i couldn't sleep because of thinking about my own mother and wishing she was still around, I decided that I would put the brain to useful creativity rather than letting it go where it was going.

So here we are,

errm maybe a bit more final sanding before finishing again its amazing what an enlarged picture will point out lol, or maybe I'll just buff it and wear it myself

These blanks are 1" square and have very little color left by the time you make a slimline pen or pencil out of it so I decided to make something a bit bigger around, and although it had some chisel travel across the work at bad times, it still turned out pretty well, I just have to buff it now to get the rest of the wax out of the grooves and its set to go. not bad though for 30 minutes worth of work
