May 13, 201214 yr Besides sawing I use my bench hook (in this case my old beater) for Dado work. After I cut the sides with my back saw I chisel the waste close to the line using the hook to hold the work. Then when I'm going for final depth with the router I use it as a stop so I don't blow out the back of the Dado. I just work from one side then flip it 180 and finish up. May 13, 201214 yr Very nice. I have an extra large bench hook that I use the same way. I also use it for chopping dovetails.Adam WelkerRed Car Construction and Fine Woodworking

May 14, 201214 yr Author I have two for sawing and then I have a chuting board. I use these for light tennon cleanup too. When you don't really need to clamp but yet you want it to be stable; just hold the part tight to the hook with one hand and go to it.
