What a week!

Featured Replies

Well I think I was on vacation this week but it has been hard to tell. I have a large two day craft/art show this coming weekend. I did a show two weeks ago and sold all of my cutting boards. That was great, but let me with ni inventory going into this show. So this week I have been turning out the sawdust in the shop. I have been emptying the dust collector bag and can at least twice a day. I got twelve large end grain boards, four medium size boards, six cheese boards, three bread boards, three large edge grain boards and a porch swing made. Well the swing is all cut out, just now assembled yet as I had to stop on it to finish the show items. I have to setup Friday evening so I was running out of time. Lots of work but some great therapy. I love being in the shop. I have bee starting each morning about eight and coming in around 9:30 at night.

Sorry guys I have been absent from here but I shuld be back regular after this weekend. I'll take and post some pictures tomorrow of the work.

Those of you that do show, if you haven't already got a credit card swiper you need to. I picked up one from Verizon and it is great. Took about thirty minutes to setup and now I can swipe cards from my iPad or Droid. Money goes into my account and the fees are not bad. I can now do all major credit cards. The swipe device is 19.95 and after you first transaction the put 20.00 in your account so it is free. The app is also free. Just pay the fees as you make the sales.

Hope you are all having a great week and getting as much shop time as you can.

I missed seeing you online this past week but I am glad that you were able to get a lot of shop time in. It is exhausting, but a good kind of exhausting.

John, it sounds to me like you're preparing for retirement.  You're supposed to have all this time but end up with none.  Hang in there for soon you'll be back to the leisure of work.

Wow, John, 6 solid hours in the shop is my max. Hat's off to you.

Your absences are excused.

This last couple of BSBs is kicking my butt. They are band saw boxes but one could easily call them chisel and rasp boxes. The old fingers and wrists are stiffening up

Time for a redesign, methinks.

Hope all goes well this weekend for you.  I also have a Fine Arts and Fine Craft show this weekend.  Going to take my velocipede and show off a little.

A big YES regarding the swipe device.  Got my from Square - free device, free app, and only 2.75% per swipe on all cards.  Of course it didn't work on my wife's old phone so we got her a new iPhone 4 last night.  Now I have to get everything working.

Al with Joh, I will upload some pix after the show.

Charles,

I am in and out on the forums throughout the day every day, but I have not been posting much as I have not had anything happening other than working at home doing non-shop related stuff. But things have been a bit slow here on the forums the past couple of weeks. Except for John locking himself in his shop and making saw dust that is. Grin.gif

Aint that the way it goes during our vacations, or workaction we should call them. Just remember, you know the ol saying bout burning at both ends.

These days though I know alot of folks that would love that type of busy time, I know your very grateful for your success having spoken with you often. And that fact that you love it in the ol shop, you can't beat it.

I need to hook up with you via phone and get the particulars on that credit card swiper dealy dally. Sounds like a winner. Thanks for checking in!

Why "You can buy the swiper directly from the Verizon" when Square will send you one for free - and - the app is free.Smile.gif
