Woodworking going to the Dogs!

Ok, I completely forgot about the Memorial Day holiday causing many businesses to be closed. So when I called the groomer this week to get my Miniature Schnauzer Sylar in to get groomed, they were all booked up for the rest of the week and did not have any openings until the end of next week. The problem is that we will be having a big retirement and end of the year party for my wife's school at our house on Tuesday night and Sylar is very shaggy and grubby. So that means that I had to give him a hair cut which I have not done in about 2 years. So I had to dig out the clippers yesterday and put the 2 rechargeable batteries into the charger over night so that I could butcher.....I mean..."groom" Sylar so he looks semi-presentable for the 30-40 people who will be coming over Tuesday night. So he looks a lot better now then he did, but I will be taking him into the groomers on June 4th for them to "clean up" my mess.

So here is my current "project" on my workbench and he is not too happy with me right now. So I will let him "chill out" for awhile before I drag him into the bathtub and give him his bath. I know that when Tami and I get home tonight from dinner out I will find some of the trash in my office trash can pulled out and shredded on the floor by my desk. That is Sylar's way of letting me know that he is not happy with me.

Allen, you give a whole new meaning to our update question, "What's on your workbench!". Funny!

Sylar looks like he is well behaved right now, very poised and in control, so this all a sham until you leave for dinner tonight?

Thank goodness ours are outside doors.

We have had seven lab puppies, but they have been going to their new homes this weekend. Cute as they can be, but are they busy bodies!

I love dogs! Some breeds more than others. We have had various dogs over the years, but this is our first Miniature Schnauzer. I really love the breed as they are hypoallergenic and do not shed at all. That is a far cry from our beloved black Lab that we had for 13 years who shed all over the place. Sylar is definitely a character and when the day comes that he goes to the big dog house in the sky, we will get another one. Schnauzers are "talkers" so he talks to you and lets you know what he thinks about everything. He also loves people, especially kids. We have a home bible study group each week in our home and we can always tell who comes in the front door as Sylar talks to them all bit differently.

As much as I love my 2 corgi's I can do with out them blowing their coats. At this point is is a baseball size of undercoat daily since the are finishing blowing the winter down. Oh but the love and kisses are so well worth the effort.
