Horton Brasses Inc, Reproduction Hardware for Furniture

Featured Replies

I recently bought a pack of screws from Horton Brasses for the latest project of ours, The Colonial Cabinet. When I received the package and started securing the rear panels to the case with them, I noticed that some were a different size. No big deal, I had enough to get the job done. I was pleased with the speed of shipment and the service, I have ordered colonial reproduction hardware from them before.

A couple weeks later, I got an email from Horton asking me if my customer experience was fine, I told them it was as always. During my reply back I dropped them a three word or so line stating some of the screws in the order were a different size, but I was still happy with them and I got the job done on time regardless. The next day they replied back, stating they were going to refund the cost of the screws, and they apologized for the inconvenience. It appears that a bag of a different size of screws spilled into their bin that had the screws I ordered so some of them had gotten in the mix. My point being, I did not ask for the refund, I was fine with the service and a few screws of a different size did not bother me, but they pro-actively gave me my money back with an apology.

In the world of business today, it is rare to find a retailer that strives to keep their customers happy the way Horton Brasses does. Needless to say, I will be doing business with them on a regular basis when it comes to authentic reproduction hardware for our furniture.

If you all get a chance, please surf on over to  Horton Brasses and check em out. You can also see our blanket chest we made, actually two of them and we used Horton Brasses Hand Forged Hinges in our chests and their Half Mortised Chest Lock set and Oval Keyhole Escutcheon and Period Drawer Pulls in both our chests. Pics below. The drawer pulls were not installed at the time the pine chest pic was taken.

It's refreshing to know that, in some businesses, customer service is alive and well.

Well, he has several. A 1911, a couple wheel guns and a Glock 40. Maybe some smaller pieces, too.  Consequently, I won't be French fitting anything.Grin.gif
