June 2, 201214 yr I almost missed this but that's ok, I got it covered For me its a couple of items that were sold over the last few days that I have to now replace back into stock. So its 1 pen, 1 hair pin, and 1 needle case . and a couple of bottle stoppers of which 1 is mostly done, that I already had been working on. If I get to do anything else I'll be lucky. So what's on your plate for the weekend? June 2, 201214 yr I'm working on stock also Charles. I'm building four flag cases. Maple, oak, cherry and one from sapele. I've never worked with sapele but man does it have a natural tendency to twist. I'll be surprised if it sells because of the cost. We'll see.Ron DudelstonSite HostAbove and Beyond WoodWorks
June 2, 201214 yr Finally got the shop cleared out enough to get to the lumber rack and then got a request for some table top rolling pin holders. Trying to mentally design something different from the last ones. If it works, I'll post pix.Lew Kauffman-Wood Turners Forum HostTime traveler. Purveyor of the world's finest custom rolling pins!
June 2, 201214 yr Plane re-hab...1903 Union #5A.   lurking behind it, a Union #4G ( rebuilt frog, re-finished knob) and a Franckenplane #3 ( mostly a Defiance #3, with a new Union lever cap, for now, might have a sargent #3 coming next week.)  Repaired a Buck Brothers #5 with a new(er, older) BRASS adjusting wheel to replace that POS Al. wheel.  Repair of a Great Neck #4.    Four hours shop time....... June 2, 201214 yr If I ever get these *$&^% sculpted BSBs done, I'm gonna take a week off!Springtime Honey Dos have kept me busy for the last week. Most are done....for now.So, this week end I'll be sanding and fitting curly maple drawer fronts (BSBs are black walnut) and, hopefully I can get to filling some of the walnut's stress cracks with turquoise. Then, it's on to sanding the bodies of the boxes. (I love my Ridgid oscillating spindle/belt sander!)I made some rather unique sanding pads to get into all the curved parts. I'll get some pictures later. And, some folks have expressed an interest in my technique for filling voids with turquoise or what ever. I'll post some pictures of that, too.Gene'The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.' G. K. Chesterton

June 4, 201214 yr Okay so it is Monday and I just got to post for the weekend. Had an outdoor craft show on Friday. Huge crowd and sold several items. Sometime this week or the weekend I will have to get the items sold replaced. That maybe for next Friday's post. So here is my table setup on the sidewalk. Had a lot of people stop by and visit and some shoppers also. I also went and help a friend clean out his dad's shop. His dad passed away several years ago and he had some walnut and mahogany that he gave me. Wow was that special. While there I saw all of these parts of old laminated water ski's laying around. I ask what his dad did with those and he told me he make porch swings. Just so happened he still had one stored in the building. Â made from old water ski's. Pretty cool. Other than that is was a quite weekend. John MoodySite AdministratorJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com
