June 5, 201214 yr This was in Steve goods email today, so I thought I'd share it for anybody that might be interested. http://home.cogeco.ca/~bigfoot/ GregScroll Saw forum hosthttp://www.thesawdustfactoryga.com/
June 6, 201214 yr I saw that this morning. It's a great idea. I'll try making one from tempered hardboard.
June 6, 201214 yr Greg - great idea - poor in usage Let me explain the "poor" side with a simple question - what if the distance between your next entry hole is more than 3 inches from the end of the board? Â See what I mean? Â Big Foot won't work. Still like the friction point on my Excaliber - and - I can adjust the amount of friction to hold the arm up. Of course, this is just my 2% of a buck. Â Let's hear from some of you other guys and gals. Fredaka Pop's Shopwww.pops-shop.comEX-21'Soooooo many patterns - sooooo little time'
June 6, 201214 yr Author Good points Fred. I haven't had the luxury of owning a top feeding saw so my experience with them is minimal. That's whats great about sharing stuff like this, others see the little things some of us miss . I wonder how people have contacted Steve about this same thing ? June 6, 201214 yr Good point Fred, I wondered that myself. I think I'll stick with the wood block under the arm at the back of the table.
June 6, 201214 yr Author Steve Good evidently got some emails about this same thing, in today's email he had this picture GregScroll Saw forum hosthttp://www.thesawdustfactoryga.com/
June 7, 201214 yr Hmmmmmmm, didn't see that email, GregGuess we weren't the only ones that thought of it. Â What did he say about it?Fredaka Pop's Shopwww.pops-shop.comEX-21'Soooooo many patterns - sooooo little time'
June 7, 201214 yr Author He's says that the piece in the pic is 10x10 and you can get the blade in a hole dead center. There are plenty of people that cut stuff a lot bigger than 10x10. In theory it is a good idea, but you got to look at the size of stuff you cut. Would'nt be too hard to make your own either.GregScroll Saw forum hosthttp://www.thesawdustfactoryga.com/
