June 7, 201214 yr  My wife saw something similar in a magazine and wanted me to make a couple for her and a couple for our daughter. I picked up some 6" cedar fence slats and took it from there. They are more ornamental than practical, The hole is too low for most birds, they like a deep place to build their nest. The ones with the dark beard are my design..
