That's just awful.

General has a good reputation....not shared by General International.

If I wanted a conventional mortiser bench or otherwise General is the one I'd buy.
There Lathes are great.

It's just too darn bad that such good companies are suffering a long slow death brought to us almost completely by out of control government regulations over the last couple decades forcing (yes, I said forcing) banks to loan money to people who could not show the ability to pay it back.

Then the government agents didn't have the fortitude to let the chips fall and insisted on propping up failed businesses (on the tax payer's back) which should have gone into bankruptcy and maybe come out of it stronger
And the chickens are still coming home to roost.

Sometimes the best thing is to just get it over with.

Sad day it is when we loose yet another North American Company.

It is a sad day. I love General Machinery North America. I can't view the video right now, but is the International portion of it still up and running? I know it's not the same as their North American division.

One thing I'd like to add, and I am playing the Devils Advocate here. Over the last 5 years or so, I could swear that their advertising for the North American Machinery was virtually nil. It never seemed like they did a very good job at promoting their product, at least that has been my impression, anyone else see this too?
