I hope everybody had great weekend. The summer craft show circuit is heating up so I know every has been doing some cutting, so how a picture or two. I finished up about 10 items this past week myself, and hope to get a few more done this week. Let's hear what everybody is working on.

Greg you are right about the craft shows heating up. I have a three day show coming this weekend. I will be at the Helen Keller Festival in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Will be setup by noon on Friday and be there all weekend. Two weeks later I have a First Friday show in Downtown Florence.

Here is my display from last month.

I have a few more cutting boards to get ready, so tonight I will be working on cutting boards.

Looks great Wayne. Here's one I did last year. The second one is Steve Goods pattern, which honestly I like better.

You made some good progress Charles

Charles Nicholls said:

Well here is a bit of progress I only have to glue the magnesium/flint stick in and it's done.

Thanks Greg and Wayne for giving me an Ideal for a wedding Present. My Step son called us late Friday night. Seems he pop the question to his Girlfriend. by asking her to marrie him. Poor Girl said yes. I haven't really played with my scroll saw in sometime.

Thanks Charles, That is pretty cool. As you said it would be a nice thing to have camping or even to just keep in the car in case of an emergency. Hope you sell a bunch of them. I love the Walnut.

Did think about Spanish Cedar. I will looking at the redish color and it didn't really look like cherry. Those are very nice.

Really liked your choice of wood. I also did Steve's version as a Christmas gift for some neighbors.I'm not sure which I like better. One is more formal and I kind of enjoy that aspect of it. This one I did out of Red Oak and it was stained with puritan pine. Still have put the finish on it, but have till this week end, so we will see. As always I enjoy seeing your work.

Wayne what I didn't like about Sue's version is the font she used, for me it was really tough to cut.

Most of her's was cut with a #5 blade. The smaller letters I stepped down to a #3. I keep my saw's blade speed down and found this to be the answer to a lot of issues I was having with the detailed cuts. Other then using a zero insert on my table. If there is someway I can help you please let me know. Watching the work you do, I would say you are very accomplished and skilled. Also this piece is 3/4 thick, I may have gone through 3 blades cutting it.

I think I used a #3 on it too, it's been over a year since I cut it. You know as well as I do that every once in a while everybody runs into a pattern that just kicks ya in the backside Grin.gif and the letters were that way for me.

Well spoken Greg. And yes you are 100% correct on getting a piece that just kicks you butt to Hades and back. I'm sure we have all been there.
