June 18, 201214 yr Greg you are right about the craft shows heating up. I have a three day show coming this weekend. I will be at the Helen Keller Festival in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Will be setup by noon on Friday and be there all weekend. Two weeks later I have a First Friday show in Downtown Florence. Here is my display from last month. I have a few more cutting boards to get ready, so tonight I will be working on cutting boards. John MoodySite AdministratorJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com

June 20, 201214 yr GregReally liked your choice of wood. I also did Steve's version as a Christmas gift for some neighbors.I'm not sure which I like better. One is more formal and I kind of enjoy that aspect of it. This one I did out of Red Oak and it was stained with puritan pine. Still have put the finish on it, but have till this week end, so we will see. As always I enjoy seeing your work.Wayne MahlerGod bless and protect our troops that serve so we can be free.
June 21, 201214 yr Author Wayne what I didn't like about Sue's version is the font she used, for me it was really tough to cut. Wayne Mahler said:GregReally liked your choice of wood. June 21, 201214 yr GregMost of her's was cut with a #5 blade. The smaller letters I stepped down to a #3. I keep my saw's blade speed down and found this to be the answer to a lot of issues I was having with the detailed cuts. Other then using a zero insert on my table. If there is someway I can help you please let me know. Watching the work you do, I would say you are very accomplished and skilled. Also this piece is 3/4 thick, I may have gone through 3 blades cutting it.Wayne MahlerGod bless and protect our troops that serve so we can be free.
June 21, 201214 yr Author I think I used a #3 on it too, it's been over a year since I cut it. You know as well as I do that every once in a while everybody runs into a pattern that just kicks ya in the backside  and the letters were that way for me. Wayne Mahler said: Greg Most of her's was cut with a #5 blade.
