I'll hazard a guess.  I'd chuck it up and use it to sweep the face of the board to ensure the board is perpendicular to the chuck.

Chuck it up in the press press, Set the wire to the edge of the drill press table. Then rotate the chuck by hand, and this will square the table to the chuck. It should touch the same around the drill press table. Once teh tbale is squared, lock it down.
