July 8, 201214 yr   I needed to move a flat screen TV from my rod building room to the shop but I needed to protect it as best as I can from the dust so I built this to house the TV, A satellite box, a surround sound amp and a Sirius radio. The cabinet will have a glass door on the front. The piece of glass I had cut wasn't cut by the dealer correctly. It was cut 1" to short so now I have to go and get another piece and install it.   The cabinet is made from 1/2" maple plywood with a poplar face frame. The plywood was pre-finished on one side which I put to the inside. The outside is finished with 3 coats of boiled linseed oil. The case is glued and brad nailed with rabbit & dado joints. The face frame is attached with biscuits and glue. It's a very strong & light. All cables & power cords are routed internally with a surge suppressor mounted behind the TV. I need to clean up the speaker wire runs and attach the surge suppressor cord with wire clamps and attach the glass door when I get it. The back has ventilation slots and the cabinet is mounted with a french cleat. Thanks for viewing.
July 8, 201214 yr Nice and compact. Looks like it will be very well protected, Mike. The newer flat screens don't have the high voltage/static charges that attracts as much dust like in the old CRT sets.Lew Kauffman-Wood Turners Forum HostTime traveler.
