Hello everyone, my name is Bill, I do segmented woodturning, build humidors, wine cellars, a little furniture and what ever else I can try. I was invited by John Morris so I'd like to thank him for the invite.

Here are a few pieces I've made in the past, please enjoy.

How did you get the pattern on the maple tiger striped vase?

Bill, it is absolutely exquisite. Just beautiful as all get out man. I helped you get those pictures up. When you post a discussion or reply and you want to put some pics in, just click on the photo icon to the right of "LINK" in your text editing bar.

That bowl is awesome, the humidor is fabulous, and that segmented bowl is out of this world.

I get the last two, the execution etc, but the first one, how in the world did you do it?

Thanks for being here buddy, great to have another member and friend amongst us!

Hey Bill, I went to your FB page to see more of your work, and I saw that you attended La Jolla High! Are you a San Diegan?

I was born and raised in OB, and class of 84 Point Loma High. Joined the Army to get out of Dodge, came back to OB in 91 with wife in tow and the rest is history, we are up in Riverside County now.

Take care buddy!

The pictures you have posted are amazing. I especially enjoy the segmented vase. The hours spent on that piece, I can only guess.

I live in Tucson now, all my family is here. The vessel in a vessel is a neat trick I learned from Trent Bosch. It's a cap that is boiled, then curled up and a baloon blown up inside to hold its shape til it dries. Then glue it in place. That was my first one, iplan another one as soon as the blank I have dries.

I just want to say, thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I've got more to share and some how to stuff coming soon.

Just looked at your albums on FB seems you are a man of many talents. From wood turnings to automotive, pretty cool stuff.

Absolutely love the joinery on your humidors.

Thanks again everyone, I'm glad to contribute. I like smaller forums, gives everyone a chance to get to know each other. I'm crazy busy for the next few weeks but I'll be posting more. I have a 1700lb pound load of clear Redwood being delivered today to build a wine cellar. My first attempt so any advice is greatly appreciated. I take progress pics as I build it too. Going to do a Green & Green style. I got 5 bf of Gabon Ebony for the accents. I hate to even put it close to a saw, I just want to look at it. 8-)
