July 12, 201214 yr You may have read the featured discussions where I asked about gluing up a bunch of different quarter inch pieces to a plywood base. Everyone who responded didn't think I'd have much, if any, problems with wood movement or cracking. So here is the final result. It is about 15 x15" and 21" tall. It is made of the wood my wife wanted (colors) and to the demensions she requested. I have a piece of plexiglass that fits on the top, but didn't use it in the picture, too many reflections.  Bottom line.........she loves it, so we are both happy

July 13, 201214 yr Author John, I knew when I started that it would be a challenge to glue the quarter inch wood to the plywood and get the stripes uniform. I glued up large panels of each color to the ply , cut into strips and glued them all together using veneer clamps, They came out very good. Then I stopped for advise before proceeding. (Thanks for everyone's help.) After I finished the top, I had to decide about the legs and how to install them. Â So I did what I always do, set it aside and thought about it for a day or two and made a good decision on how to proceed. Â John Moody said:Beautiful table Ron. Main thing is she likes it.
