July 20, 201213 yr Author Been trying to get all the "bases" covered.   Almost done with these.   Still have one project plane to go.    A Bailey style #5, I hope.  I seem to be getting a lot of Unions, and Sargent types.    I do have a few Stanleys, sitting around.  The little TV Table I just slapped together the other day, I gave a lot of these old planes a work out. Parts Planes, I may have another one coming in. If I'm unlucky, no biggie, in no big hurry.  Might still go looking for a low angle block plane. 'and may the road raise up to meet ye'

July 20, 201213 yr Author  each plane gets used in it's turn, scrub it up, run a jack plane over the scrub marks, hit it with a jointer to true the face, and edges, maybe a trip with a larger jointer for panel work, then out comes a smoother, and maybe a block for the edges . The #7 and #8c will do an edge like a powered jointer.   The sixes will do the same on shorter boards, as well as some face work.  Just a pick and choose sort of thing.  Two jacks, two different edges on the irons.  One a nice big cambered edge, the other is a square edge for some smoothing work.  the smoothers, some are narrower than others, so, smaller work areas can be done. One block plane even has a cambered edge to it's iron, for scrubbing down small or thin rough stock.   All kinds of options available.  'and may the road raise up to meet ye'
