July 25, 201213 yr I've watched this tree for the last 10 years or so continue to grow here on our property. I think its amazing how resilient a tree can be. Or maybe some curly oak, I would estimate this one to be close to 150 years old from the size of the trunk. July 25, 201213 yr Author The pine is on the edge of a field that will probably never be built on. or at least as long as we own it , the oak is in the front yard of what used to be my Mother ans Father in laws house, now that they are both gone i use the shop down there some, as far as the house we don't really have any plans for it for the near future. That oak has always been a great place to hang out under on a sunny day, plenty of shade . GregScroll Saw forum hosthttp://www.thesawdustfactoryga.com/
July 25, 201213 yr Cool Tree. I'll be there with my chain saw just give me a few minutes.I don't think it'll make for very good lumber because of how it's growingIt's growing a lot like sycamores do when they are on a river bank or roadside. Lots of leaning and over hanging and that puts a ton of stresses in the wood that no amount of seasoning will ever get out. So when you cut it it's bowing and twisting all over the place.
