Silverline tools direct in the UK
http://www.silverlinetoolsdirect.com/

I just bought a large engineer's square, A Rosewood infill mini bullnose plane, and a spoke shave all for under $30.00 USD and the VAT and Shipping are included in that price.

I have no idea whether these tools are just floor scraps glued together and sold as something they are not or whether they might actually be worth owning.
But I used AMEX and if I hate 'em AMEX will get my money back.

They have steel sash clamps for cheap too. I'll get some if I like what I bought.

Just tried the site. Either they're really busy of they got your Amex payment-

HA HA HA HA HA HA well I only posted it here.   So I doubt that they got instantly flooded with US orders.

Website's up this morning  Shipping is now free ONLY in the UK.

I guess they were taken by surprise by the USA order.

Gotta wonder how they can possibly sell me that stuff AND ship it for under $30.00

I'll tell ya how I found 'em:

I was surfing the Fle Bay for Engineer's squares and saw one for $13.00 and got wot wondering if it was crud or decent or what.  It was a Silverline square.   Prolly the retailer just orders 'em and either re ships 'em or has 'em shipped direct to the buyer and pockets his 100% markup.

So I started googling around to see if any one else was selling Silverline.  There was a couple in the UK I found.

And I found Silverline direct.   I am most certain they are from some god forsaken horror show in India or rural China otherwise there's simply no way these prices would be even remotely possible.

Well the company: ToolTask, which I guess own Silverline just refunded me my £19.05 GBP.

I'm guessing they were entirely unprepared for overseas orders. So they shut their web site down to prevent more and changed their policy from Free Shipping to  Free only in the UK.  However it is odd that  the email they sent me says they won't ship out side of the UK.

I think they are merely very unsophisticated. But Man oh Man I would love to get a look at their sourcing contacts.

At least it is nice you didn't have to go thru the AMEX refund process.

I am going to ask them about shipping to the US.

Their prices are still dirt cheap.
