August 5, 201213 yr  Just two old handsaws, @ $1 each.   I might be able to fix them up...I even worked on the black handled one for awhile today.   Clamped it in place on the Back Porch Bench, grabbed some sandpaper, and went after the rust...Looking a little better.  Even found an "etch", still trying to decode it, though.    It MIGHT be a Disston. A look at the handle (tote)That "10" is the tooth count, usually as tpi.  I found ONE missing tooth, clear out by the end.  Not going to joint a whole saw blade for one tooth.  I'll be re-gluing that handle, once I get it off the blade. Then, I will start looking for some Brass hardware.  Two Saw nuts, and a Brass Medallion.   As for the other saw?   It's next on the "Bench", later today.    I have about an hour so far in this old saw. 'and may the road raise up to meet ye'

August 5, 201213 yr Author  I just use sandpaper and elbow grease on the metal.   Just keep using finer and finer grits until it is all cleaned up.   The handles get a re-finishing like any other wooden item.    The one will need a glue up when I get it off the blade. New saw nuts when I can find some.'and may the road raise up to meet ye'

August 6, 201213 yr Author  Also working on a third item that "followed me home", cost a little more than the first two, though..Getting it charged up now, we'll see later IF it works ok. 3/8" drive.  'and may the road raise up to meet ye'
August 6, 201213 yr That looks like some sort of "Ray Gun" or cement mixer type thing steven newman said:  Also working on a third item that "followed me home", cost a little more than the first two, though..Getting it charged up now, we'll see later IF it works ok. 3/8" drive.  'and may the road raise up to meet ye'
