Looking for scrap wood

Featured Replies

I jist started to build a new Box Dulcimer. Yeah I know go figure me not doing normal wood workingGrin.gif

I going all out with this one the box will  be made of Maple, the top and bottom of poplar, the fingerboard from Mahogany. the scroll head I thinking of making from Maple, It is made in three part glued together.

What I would like to do is find a piece of Black Walnut about  3.5" wide and 8.5" long about a 1/4" to 1/2" thick. The only wood store any where near me are two big box stores and if you are not building a house they don;t have much for the things I like to build.

And then I got to thinking what I had in scrap wood and what others might have in scrap wood. Any one have a small piece of Walnut they would like to get rid of? Or any other type of wood that would look good with maple?
