August 14, 201213 yr  Tip Alert on Page 26Lightly swipe the sole of your plane with paraffin to help it glide along the work. ( I use a small block of canning wax from the grocery store, but a CANDLE STUB will work. )

August 14, 201213 yr Good Morning John,I would use the candle stub to dip my screws into for ease of insertion into the wood as well as bees wax or even a bar of soap for that matter. It doesn't take much of either for all you have to do is to drag the screw across the surface to get enough on the threads to do the job.

I like this tip it makes sense, typically I would use paste wax but I think this tip is much more handy, cleaner and less work then opening up the can, getting the rag out etc. Great tip my Woodcraft!
