My new bandsaw came! But........

Featured Replies

Well, my new Rikon 10-325 14" bandsaw came yesterday via ABF Freight and the mobile base came via UPS as well, so I am happy. I was a bit concerned as the bottom edge of the box was damaged so while it was still on the lift gate I took a good look at it with the driver. The tear happened where the base is on the saw and it was scratched up with a minor dent. But it is cosmetic and won't amount to anything as everything else is ok and since it will be on a mobile base it won't show at all. Since I used to drive freight many years ago I don't want to complain unless I have to as it could really tie things up. So it is all good.113.gif

Another thing came up is that I will be going to Jury Duty on Monday. Hopefully I will only have to serve for a day, but you never know and I could be on a case for a couple of weeks.

Now for the kicker.

Back in mid April I got pneumonia and it totally messed up my shop time for almost 2 months. Well, I got better and was doing well for the most part, but things have been getting worse the past 2 weeks as my body was slowing way down. So today I went back into the doctor and the pneumonia is back. So no shop time where I will be stirring up sawdust for awhile.17.gif

Well, at least I got the bandsaw onsite. Depending on how things go with jury duty on Monday, maybe I will put the bandsaw together and get it set up on its mobile base. I go back to the doctor next Thursday to take some more x-rays to see if things are cleared up or not after all the steroids and antibiotics.

I'm glad you got the saw but sorry to hear about your illness. I still think they delivered it to your address by mistake instead of mine. Keep us posted on your health issue and the saw progress. As far as the Jury Duty goes, just wear a hangman's noose and I'm sure the defense will excuse you...just kidding. Take care and get well soon.

Allen, that's kinda like ordering a hot fudge sundae when you're on a diet.  Maybe the time will go quickly.

Wow sorry to hear the pneumonia is back. Hope you get that cleared up real quick. That can be a real downer and especially when you got a brand spanking new in the box bandsaw just waiting to get put together.

Take care of yourself and get some help getting it out of the box. Don't want to be down in your back too.

Congratulations to the new addition.
