August 18, 201213 yr  of Stanley Handyman planes.    Stanley made only three sizes of "Bench" planes in the "Handyman" line-up.    A #3 sized, and a #4 sized smoother, and a #5 sized jack plane.   Somehow, all three are now in my shop, posing for a family portrait....There is that red chip breaker, again.   Left to right:  H1203, H1204, and an H1205.   I even worked on the "04's" iron to get it to match the other two irons.  Sandpaper, Emery Cloth, and an old Oil stone, with a honing guide.   Got the chipbreaker as well.   Put things back together, I had some rough Beech in a 1x1 size.   Needed to smooth a couple sides of it...Hmmm.... lateral adjustment just a hair off.... we can fix that...That any better?    Seems the 1203 was feeling left out of the "fun" on the Beech....Not too bad.... and i gave the jack a trip or two on another side.... The Handyman Series of tools were designed to compete with all those "Budget Line" tools being dumped into the marketplace, back then.    However, these planes came down the same assembly line as the "Regular STANLEY planes" at the time.  Not a whole lot of difference, other than price.   The STANLEY ones had the frog adjustment screw, Handymans did not.   Big Deal???? 'and may the road raise up to meet ye'
