August 20, 201213 yr comment_25230 Just took a break from the shop and thought I would drop by. Â After reading John's Newsletter, I'm convinced he was busy all last week. Â Thanks, John. Â Gregg and John both had their pictures in there. For me - getting ready for our next show next weekend. Â Finished another nativity scene, fixed the velocipede (again), put the finishing touches on a few other little projects (no pix yet). Â This busy retirement stuff can get tiring from time to time. August 21, 201213 yr comment_25225 i havent had much time to get into the shop last couple weeks. I did however finish up a few more intarsia projects.  Pig in a Blanket.  JGR pattern. the flesh is from Western Red Cedar, hooves and nostrils are walnut, Aspen and Ganco Alves (?) for the eyes, Secymore for the inner ears, The "blanket" is maple aromatic cedar and poplar. And Paduk for his tounge  Sunday the glass is spalted Maple, with Aspen for the icecream and whipped cream, Walnut for the chocolate syrup, and blood wood for the cherry. Gave this one to a friends daughter on Sunday for her 13th birthday. she was overjoyed with it. To be honest I was a little surprised by everyone reaction to this one. It seemed so simple compaired to my much larger and more complex ones. Already printed out the pattens to make about 5 more. maybe these will see atthe shows where the others have failed to. Report
