August 26, 201213 yr So my friend Andy calls me again with a lead on a power hacksaw. I already have one but this one is a lot bigger ... and it's a Marvel My wife went and paid for it and picked it up while I was at work. She helped me get it into the shop, which is not an easy thing ... the saw weighs just over 900 lbs., and I spent the weekend cleaning it up and getting it all adjusted. Works very nice, not as quiet as my little Covel but it cuts a lot quicker. Here's a video of it running ... Sorry about the poor video quality, I shot it with my iPhone and my big fat thumb kept getting in the way. (hope this works ... don't think I have posted a video here yet)

August 27, 201213 yr Shane, I am in a funny mood this morning, for a Monday morning. I had to giggle with "I already have one but this one is a lot bigger" Well heck! I can't think of a better reason to get a new machine, it's bigger!!!!!!! Nice! And, my my, what a wife! Picked it up for your while at work!As the blade is cutting, I noticed the top handle turning, is it lowering itself automatically with each stroke? It's a clean machine already Shane, very nice and congratulations on the find.John MorrisThe Patriot WoodworkerProud Supporter of Wounded Warrior Project and Homes For Our Troops

August 27, 201213 yr Shane, Is that a Boice-Crane scroll saw in the background? Â Larry Old Woodworking Machinery Forum Host
August 29, 201213 yr Author Thanks guys John, yes it lowers the blade with each stroke and then raises after it cuts through the material, and then turns itself off. The down pressure can be adjusted by a clutch that is just below the handle. It cuts on the pull stroke and raises the blade up just a bit on the push stroke so the blade is not dragging across the material which makes the blade last longer. Larry, yes that's a Boice Crane Model 2200 24 inch scroll saw. Picked it up about 6 years ago in nice original condition.
August 29, 201213 yr Shane, The B-C looked like a bigger saw when hiding behind your Delta 785 Bandsaw. Nice Buzz-Box scrollie sitting on it's table! Now you've got me stumped with the twin beam on it's right. Larry Old Woodworking Machinery Forum Host
