September 10, 201213 yr Well here we are folks! Back at it again! Thank you for your understanding in our lapse of quizzes last week. For those who are new to this quiz, you can find the RULES at the preceding link. For this week we'd like to offer up a nice pair of Fast Cap Safety Glasses courtesy of the folks at Woodcraft for the correct answer. So without further adieu! This quiz is taken out of the current issue of Woodcraft Magazine, August/September. During the building process of this mainstay furnishing in our home, the author suggests we work on this portion of the build first and last. What is it? Good Luck!!! September 16, 201213 yr Author Looks like we skunked you all, and that is not our intention at all. We want our members who read Woodcraft to walk away with some fun prizes, I am sorry if we made it too hard!!! We will re-calibrate our questions to better suit. Thanks for all the views we got on this! The answer is Page 24 in the green box with the headline "Why Begin and End With the Top?"Per the authors suggestion while creating a table, you want to glue up the top first, while the glue is drying and the boards are taking on their shape, you can start on assembling the bottom of the table or the frame work. Once you get the bottom finished, you will pull out the top now that the glue is set, and the moisture has evaporated, you can finish up the table by planing the top and assembling the top to the base.John MorrisThe Patriot WoodworkerProud Supporter of Wounded Warrior Project and Homes For Our Troops
