Well we had a super slow, and I mean super duper slow weekend at the market we were at Saturday. But I did get a bunch of ornaments cut yesterday. Anybody else get anything done over the weekend? Anybody make any new patterns?

This is what I did, I got a few sanded and finished this morning. There is approx. 50 in there a lot of them are small angels, 1.5 by 2-2.5" 's

Sorry to hear about the slow sales but glad you got some stuff made for when things pick up.

Looks great Greg, Even though it's not scroll sawing, This is what I got done over the weekend. I didn't get a lot of lathe time. just a couple of 3/8" magnets made from scrap black walnut

It was just one of those weekends, folks had other stuff to do. I've got some items in a craft consignment store, and they rented a space at a 5 day bluegrass music festival coming up in a month, and are letting the vendors share the cost for part of the space, so I need to get some music related stuff done, and Ga. ornaments and the like. Hopefully all of us will do well. This is a well attended festival in a self contained private park.

At least you got something done Charles, those look good. As soon as I get off here, I'm heading home to hopefully get the rest of that pan full of ornaments finished and get some more cut.

Thanks Greg, These are both easy and fun to do, i usually just do standard shapes, but a person could really get creative if they wanted to. i will never do points on them though, those could hurt if someone like a kid reached up real fast and hit their hand on a point. things lik what is here or pawn shapes and other blunt thins though could look really good as a magnet. It also uses scrap material that otherwise would go in the fireplace. It doesn't have to be big at all, about 3/4x3/4" is all that's needed.

I need to finish one box that I turned a few months back need to finish the rim which was damaged by it coming off the lathe prematurely and I need to find lid material for it but I am not seeing anything i want to use for it. it's about 2 3/16"h x 2 3/8"w So it's pretty small. then it's just a matter of cutting the end off to what will then be it's base. I have other things im in the process of doing too.

The only thing I got FINISHED last weekend was making new sawdust.  Nothing finished I'm afraid.  Ask again in a couple of days and I should have some stuff finished.  Bananeyessss.gif

Yep they have a spring and fall 4 day festival and do some smaller events thoughout the year. They have 500 hookups for RV's and supposedly as of 2 weeks ago 300 of those were reserved.
