September 26, 201213 yr You know like that paper towel dispenser that is supposed to sit still while you yank towels off it and maybe it might it if just weighed a few pounds more. That sort of thing.Get thee to your local Auto Tire store. They will gladly let you have the discarded lead weights.They melt up easily and mold nicely. You can machine lead on the wood lathe with wood cutting tools. Cut it on the TS, or BS, hand saw it, it even takes threads very nicely.Cuts like Buttah.I make molds from wood and soak them in water before pouring Also I use Plaster but ya gotta kiln it in an over for a while to get the moisture out after it cures up or it cracks when the heat hits it. Wood is easier and you can get complex shapes. No thin wood sections in the mold though coz it'll burn away
