October 1, 201213 yr Is this a worthy project for restoration? Are parts available?http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/tls/3307595183.htmlwww.thepatriotwoodworker.com Proud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops
October 1, 201213 yr I'm sure Larry or Shane will be along shortly to update you, but it sure looks like a nice saw. Could be a good project.John MoodySite AdministratorJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com
October 1, 201213 yr Mike, The Walker-Turner bandsaws do have a following. If you do look at it, check the housing for table tilt (3rd picture) for breakage. Not a deal breaker, but can be hard to find. Walker-Turner was known for using odd size bearings, but quite a few of these machines get restored. I couldn't tell from the photo what size saw this is. December 18, 201213 yr Hey, its been awhile already  but did you pursue the project and make the restoration ? Take the first step, it will lead you to the LAST.www.bandsawblog.com
December 18, 201213 yr Author No James I tried contacting the seller but got no response so I guess someone else got it. It's just as well since I picked up a metal lathe and spent some time cleaning it up. If I bring in another large power tool I won't have any room for wood.www.thepatriotwoodworker.com Proud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops
December 18, 201213 yr  Oh I see. well, you must be still happy with your lathe.. Take the first step, it will lead you to the LAST.www.bandsawblog.com
December 18, 201213 yr Author Yes James I am very happy with the lathe. I do have to make a couple of mods to it. A 4 bolt hold down for the cross slide and a quick change tool post. The best part about the lathe is it only cost me 2 tanks of gas. I'll mainly use it for pen making. I can make my own bushings, closed end mandrills, Â kitless pens, metal pens etc etc.www.thepatriotwoodworker.com Proud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops
