Old worn Stanley #26

Featured Replies

After doing a bit of research of value of these old workhorses, I have to ask is it worth trying to rebuild this one? After putting an initial bid on it, I saw that the front of the box (for lack of a better word) is also cracked, but i guess that could be fixed too if a person really wanted to do it. It could probably be glued and work just fine.

What's your thoughts? Is it worth restoring?

Looks like a great plane. Would be a nice addition to a collection with a little loving care.

Thanks John. Basically for me, it's a way to keep busy doing something new and maybe make a bit of money along the way. i intend to sell most of what is repaired, especially the larger ones since i don't have a lot of room for them. and if i can't sell them myself, Maybe we can sell them with proceeds going to HFOT.
