October 4, 201213 yr I am still waiting on a couple block planes to show up in the mail.   So, this being my day off, decided to go on the rust hunt again.    Followed some signs that said "BARN SALE!"    Didn't really want to buy the whole barn, but maybe a tool or two.     Well, for the high sum of $2.50 I got two items. this is the $.50 part of the deal.  A Stanley Handyman 133H Yankee.  The $2 part? A Stanley ?    This is a Craftsman Block plane.   Number on the iron is: 187.37051.    Maybe a good deal??   May go out for another hunt later..... October 5, 201213 yr Author Case of I can smell the rusties from the end of their driveways.  This fellow had a BUNCH of old rusty stuff.     Braces and bits ( don't need them) a bunch of powered saws ( Got three of my own)  about any and every wrench and screwdriver made. And this was on just ONE table?Went back on the hunt later that day, KofC had an Estate sale.    Found a diamond knife sharpener and a 50s Disston handsaw.  Plywoodie handle, but I can fix that....There is still tomorrow's sales in the area....Checked on that 133H screwdriver, yep, got another deal on that.   And, two fulton block planes came in the mail today!  That makes NINE block planes in the shop!   time to thin the inventory....Sign on pick up truck's back window..:' Save a Horse, ride a Cowboy'
October 10, 201213 yr Author  Got the 133 cleaned up, and repainted:the red will need a second coat. This is the colour scheme used by Stanley for this Handyman line of tools.   Black & Red.  One of the Fulton planes that came in the mail had a little extra to it..A Fulton Label!    Seems I am getting a few Fulton/Sargent planes in the house..as for the Craftsman / Stanley #220?    Couldn't get a good match on that funny greenish-blue, so the black paint came out...and set it next to the "other" Sears plane, a Dunlap/Sargent Not too bad???
