Question concerning cutting board finishes.

Featured Replies

When I finally return to the state of retirement, I'd like to try the cutting board finish of bees wax and mineral oil.

Those of you that use this finish, do you use unscented bees wax?. There is a local market that produces their own wax. All they have is scented. Just curious if it makes any difference.

I wouldn't use the scented stuff and in fact I think I'd use paraffin. Somewhere I read that bees wax pose problems. If you go to this site and he gives different finishes and the pros and cons of each. Also a great primmer for end grain cutting boards.
