October 11, 201213 yr Do any of you remember this tool? It's called a VUNDER VICE and it was manufactured by a company in Sweden. I used to see them demonstrated at home improvement shows and I always wanted one but could never seem to be able to afford one when they were being manufactured. Well mine arrived in the mail today. It comes with all the attachments for doing various clamping operations. It's great as a portable vice and can be used anywhere. I plan on using it mostly for a pen vice and as a third hand when marking stock for segmented and laminated turnings. I won't tell you what I paid for it but lets just say I didn't take money from my pocket. www.thepatriotwoodworker.com Proud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops

October 12, 201213 yr I remember seeing it at the Woodworking Show several years ago (?6-7 yrs ago?)... it did look versatile but I never felt a strong enough urge to spend the money for it. I can't imagine there is a downside to having one, especially at the price you implied. Let us know how  useful it is. Spence
October 12, 201213 yr Author I set it up last night and it is very useful It comes with several jaw inserts that allow you to clamp round objects like dowels, pipe, bolts and odd shaped pieces. It comes with a bracket that allows you to clamp ANY length of material and holds it securely while machining with hand planes, chisels, drilling and even routing without the material shifting or slipping. There are a pair of centers which attach to the jaws that allows for clamping turned objects like table legs or even 4 X 4 posts for porch supports. www.thepatriotwoodworker.com Proud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops
