An Advent Candle Stand

Featured Replies

A couple of weeks ago I was asked to build a stand for the upcoming Advent season dedicated to the Advent wreath and candles.  The Moody clan went to church with us on Sunday and he presented me with an beautiful idea for a stand but I was asked to keep the stand similar to the bible stand that is on the platform now.  I did manage to incorporate John's idea for the top which would accent the candles on the outside of the wreath with an elevated center Christ candle.  Since the stand would only be used one month out of the year I elected to make a convertable top so that it could also be used as a lectern.  Without further adieu, here are the pictures.

Awesome job Ron. I like the ability to switch the tops out for multi purpose.

Fluting looks great and it will go very well with the Bible Stand already there.

I like the way the Advent top turned out. I think it will be great. Looks like you pulled it off.

Yep I really like that. The fluting is great, and the convertible top is cool too

Awesome job, Ron. Like that RT and cabinet, too.

Ron, I know that one matches the other one we saw, but I would have like to seen one more flute in the middle that was a little longer than the two on the side.

I know you were matching the other one so this one looks great.

I considered it John and the next time we talk I'll tell you why I went with two.

BTW, did you see the shameless plug for Woodcraft magazine?

Spectacular work.  The church goers should be pleased.

To know but not to do is not yet to know.

Great looking project Ron. Very nicely done. I like the idea of the multi purpose configuration.
