October 23, 201213 yr Hilarious! You are a lucky man. That is a "shoot board" plane. Stanley made the #51 and Lie-Nilsen makes a very nice reproduction of one (that I lust after!) though both are a bit pricey. $500 for the LN and at least a few hundered or more for an original Stanley. It is used on its side to square the ends of boards. Dunno what that one is but it doesn't look like any Stanley I've seen. None the less, it is a rare find and could be restored into a fine user plane. I am most jealous. Clean it up.  Look for maker's marks. Might be worth something?Adam WelkerRed Car Construction and Fine Woodworking
