November 17, 201213 yr  This little rusty plane arrived this afternoon in the mail.  All the way from Alexandria, LA.   A $6 plane +S&H.    Rusty??just a bit.   I had to replace the bolt for the front knob, someone had "beheaded" it.     Got out the 1/4"x 20 tap, and re-cut some threads in the hole.  Went to the local Lowes, and got a bolt, and a few washers.   Bolt is a #3 Phillips, but it will have to do. Got the beltsander set up, and de-rusted things that needed it.  The sole was kind of bad on this one..kind og pitted, too.   the lever cap needed a good cleaning, iron and cap iron needed work as well.  The rest of the bolts ( that hadn't lost their heads) were chucked into the drill, and polished up.  They kind of needed it...Fired up th H-F "Dremel" and got to cleaning things out.  Iron saw a stone as well. Time to put things back together??Looking any better??still a few pits left, but the sole is flat...Not sure if that is a Dunlap label, or just a price sticker.  Brass got shined up as well.  Handles are a black Bakelite.   Might just keep them, too.    That tote is very COMPFY!!   May touch up the red paint to highlight the Dunlap logo.   this is a #3 size plane.  Iron is a hair under 1-3/4" wide.  May just be a keeper??
