I had just sent off the EWT Loaner tools to the next person in line yesterday, and was feeling a bit bummed since i really liked those tools, but what did I get in the mail today? An Easy Rougher and Easy Finisher in mid size!

It seems that my sister heard what i wanted for Christmas this year and decided to get them for me.

I'll get the Detailer later. I might just get the Mini Detailer later as that would probably do all I would need for detailing anyway. I am also seriously looking at getting at least 1 of the hollowers, for bowl work.

I can't really express how happy i am right now. i am looking forward to turning my first item with them, and that will probably go to my sister simply because i feel it would only be right.I'll let you know how it goes :)

The only thing that i was slightly bummed about, is that I thought that they came with 1 extra cutter.

Not to worry though, I can get those as I need them.

If it sounds like i am gloating, I'm sorry, I'm not trying to, I was just really surprised and happy that my sister got the very thing for me this year that i needed, other than being with family this year, which i know isn't going to happen. Perhaps this spring though I will finally be back in home surroundings. At least in Florida anyway. I wanted to go to Washington instead which is where my sister that got these tools for me lives, but in order to do that, she would have to practically rebuild her house, because there is no access by wheelchair at all. So rather than spend several thousand dollars rebuilding a house that is only worth 70k to start with, she and i thought itt would be best to go to FL to stay with the family there if that is what was needed. Anyway, enough yammering from me, what are you all getting this year? Do you know yet?

Be happy and turn safe!

Nice gifts and a very thoughtful sister.

My gifts to me are an I-Box and a plunge base for my new Colt.

Our son in Tucson is getting a briefcase for his .45s. The son in Okinawa is getting a long gun case. That one will be late because he can't use it in Japan. He'll get it in July. The I-Box will speed the production of the dentil molding for the case.

Can you tell that we are a shooting family?

Nice snag Charles.  I honestly haven't figured out Christmas yet.  We are going to start shopping tomorrow but I can honestly say that there is nothing I want nor need.  After all, a guy with 7 routers is blessed.

Thanks guys it was a very wonderful gift. I have already used the Rougher to take down some wood near a bead, only to find that the knot that was there, was flaking like corn flakes as a tool hit it, so now I must start over. That could be fun too though, watching Black Walnut chips fly during roughing.

Thanks John, I will post them for sure as I go.

Gene, yea I could tell :) I am basically a shooter myself but I have no guns right now. I gave 1 each to my brother and sister several years ago when I moved away from home and the rest were sold because I needed money during a layoff.

Thanks Ron, keep mentioning those seven routers and I swear a little elf is going to snag one from you LOL.

May your lives all be filled with happiness and woodchips flying. I need to go lay down. Durn I wanted to turn !

Thanks guys These tools being as sharp as they are, make much faster work of projects. the Carbon steel vs HSS chews up even the hardest wood in short order. I am even able to make shapes now that i just could not do before, because the other tools just did not have the edge to cut cleanly on smaller pieces without breaking them off.

There are times i wish i could take some classes from someone that knows more than me, but I just don't have a way to get anywhere. So basically, it's just a matter of training myself how to make the shapes I want without tearing up the piece (usually finials). i will definitely have to get the detailer later, even if it's the small one. All around, The Easy Wood Tools  are by far the best i have used.

Congrats, Charles!!

Looking forward to seeing the projects come rolling out!!
