December 13, 201213 yr comment_20000 I was able to get some rare overtime at work and I was able to get an early Christmas present. So I bought the Beall collet chuck from the Beall company. I then purchased a set of collets to go with it from a local supplier at a huge savings. Now I'm hoping to take my pen making to new level, kitless custom pens and ones made entirely from metal. I've been looking to get the collet chuck & collets for a long time and now I can't wait to get started but first gotta finish the Wife's present and a few boxes then I'll get to learning how to craft the kitless penswww.thepatriotwoodworker.com Proud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops Report

December 13, 201213 yr comment_20004 Nice Present! When I was helping out in the Precision Machining shop, I got a chance to use a collet chuck. They are THE thing to use. Wish I had some for my wood lathe.Lew Kauffman-Wood Turners Forum HostTime traveler. Purveyor of the world's finest custom rolling pins! Report

December 13, 201213 yr Author comment_20002 Lewis, PSI has a collet chuck & collets that's reasonable if you can put up with their terrible customer service. Myself I only buy from PSI if no one else has what I'm looking for. Which is why I went with the BEALL, plus the BEALL chuck is made in the USA.This set is for my wood lathe. On my metal lathe I still need to modify my cross slide hold down to a four bolt plate and add a quick change tool post, then I'll get a collet chuck for it.Lewis Kauffman said:Nice Present! When I was helping out in the Precision Machining shop, I got a chance to use a collet chuck.
