Wood Turning On Line's newsletter arrived on Sunday and it contained several interesting articles.

There is a very well written article on making Sea Urchin Ornaments. Mr. Hertzog has a bunch of neat tricks for producing these delicate pieces. Many of these tips can be applied to other turnings as well.

The other day, our member Mike Dillen, added a discussion about a device to assist in the glue ups of  segmented turnings. The newsletter referenced this tool in one of their articles and provides links to the website and to the video Mike posted

Probably most of you have seen the videos from Johannes Michelsen, The Wood Hat Man. His turnings are absolutely fantastic. He has developed a grinding procedure and jig to help improve the cutting characteristics of a gouge. A link to his site is available in the newsletter.
