New arrivals in the Dungeon Woodshop

Process of moving things to the new shop:  Found some old patterns, under a pile of Norm's books...ning-sdc13924-19683-15.jpg?width=750( blue screen? nah, battery in camera was getting a bit low)Put these together, just right...ning-sdc13925-19683-39.jpg?width=750and a critter appears.   Supposed to be Rudolph.    The other arrivals?ning-sdc13926-19683-18.jpg?width=750just a few boards to play with.   mostly 5/4 skipped planed Barn wood.  Biggum in the middle is about 7" wide.   unsure what type of wood, as yet.    waiting for it to dry out some more.    i think that I MIGHT have a handplane or two sitting around.     Rest of the junk, er tools and benches will show during the local Honda Shut Down next week.    Pole Barn owner works at the Anna Engine Plant.    He also has a pick'em-up truck I can use.  Maybe, just maybe i can get back to a little wood working?   ( never mind the fact i have yet another block plane coming in the mail)

Steve, I thought you had that retro film look going on.

The only way i could get rid of that blue tint was to go Black & White.     Battery life with rechargables in the camera, and a Grandbrat that likes to leave it on "Video"  and not turn the camera off.   Wound up with a dang good vid of going down the stairs to the Dungeon.

Retro Movie?     I remember going to the movies for $.75,  and got a couple cartoons and a preview before the Movie started.    Went to a drive-in to watch Easy Rider, when it first came out.    Now that site is a parking lot, for a closed factory.

Find out later just what wood that is.    Got plenty of time, though.  I'm still on the D.L. til Jan. 15.     Maybe longer....

I love your reindeers Steve, I remember you have been making them for years every Christmas correct? What are you doing with this batch?

Found the patterns too late this year.     might try a couple, just to have a project to do.

Do you remember where you got the patterns? That looks like something to work on during the year for next Christmas.

Harry - I have a pattern that came from Creative Woodworks and Crafts January 2005.  It is a small Reindeer Planter but can be used to put just about anything in.

I'll have to check that one out.

Thanks Fred.

I tried to print some patterns out last year, but got a little vacation from here instead.    Not sure how to go about it anymore.  The originals were from a "Woodworking" magazine back in the 80s.    yep, been doing these critters along time.     One one of advice on them, though.  Do not let a pair of them sit around too long.     I wound up with 17 one weekend!   Might be a way to convert these into "Bunnies" for Easter?

Now that's a good Idea, Steve!
