Bosch Jigsaw Review

Featured Replies

Yesterday I received my Bosh Jigsaw JS365 from Amazon.com. The saw comes with a molded case, 1 saw blade, plastic non marring foot plate and a splinter free insert.

  • Powerful 6.5-Amp Jig Saw
  • Variable speed - Dial sets maximum speed and accelerator trigger controls operating speed
  • Exclusive multi-directional blade clamp provides superior grip of T-shank blades. (JS365 does not accept U-shank blades.)
  • Tool-less Blade Change System—Fast and effortless blade installation and removal
  • Precision-machined plunging mechanism and low-vibration design for enhanced accuracy and smooth operation
  • Sturdy die-cast foot with steel insert and on-board bevel Allen key storage
  • Four orbital-action settings -Different blade strokes for smooth to aggressive cuts
  • Adjustable dust blower keeps cutting line clear
  • Ergonomic top handle and two-finger trigger for versatile, comfortable grip
  • Ambidextrous lock-on button – For steady long cuts and user comfort and control

I used the saw for the first time on a test piece of 1" red oak. It cut like butter through the red oak. I then cut a test piece of 1-1/4 ash with the same results. The cut was very smooth, splinter free and square with no blade wander and the saw has plenty of power. The handle is very comfortable, the trigger control works very well and you can throttle the saw very easily  The dust blower works very well. The quick blade change is an awesome feature. This saw doesn't have a light but with normal shop lighting that isn't an issue. In all the saw is very well balanced, has little to no vibration. For cuts in projects that are too large or awkward for the band saw or scroll saw this is a must have tool and it's a value purchase at $105.00 which included 2nd day air.

The one thing I did find odd was there was no literature included regarding Bosch's line of Jigsaw blades.

After testing the quality of the cut I used it to cut the side rails for a red oak quilt stand and I couldn't be more pleased with the tools performance. Before I was hesitant to use a jigsaw for making cuts in anything other than rough cuts, but now I'll not hesitate to use this saw for finer cuts.

I'd like to thank Allen Worsham, Fred Wilson & Gene Howe for helping me in my search for a quality Jigsaw. They're information was most helpful. Thanks guys!

Glad that you like the saw. I love mine and it was one of the best tool purchases that I have made. The Bosch blades are excellent and I used them exclusively.I use the Bosch T101B series blades for most of my work as they give a real smooth cut at 10 teeth per inch. The T101B cuts on the pull stroke and the T101BR cuts on the push stroke. The orbital feature is great as you can dial in the amount of aggressiveness that you need for the piece. The less orbit the more smooth the cut. The anti-tearout plate works pretty well and also the dust collection attachment that came with mine does well when doing a lot of straight cuts as I can hook up my Shop Vac hose to it and it keeps things a lot cleaner. It is not something that can be used for doing a lot of tight curve cutting with the hose attached. I love the easy blade changes. It is so nice to just flip the switch and the blade is ejected so I don't burn my fingers from the heat build up. Enjoy your saw.

Great review Mike. That helps us all know and to be able to share with others when the questions come up. Look forward to seeing the Oak Quilt Stand.
