January 7, 201313 yr Well here we are embarking on another week of work for most, play for some, and woodworking bliss for many. For myself I find that my shop hours are cut short during the work week with our standard time schedule. And with the winter months here, many of us are chased out of our shops by the cold. What do you all do during these short and cold days to help your woodworking addictions survive?Have a wonderful week folks!John MorrisThe Patriot WoodworkerProud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops and Wounded Warriors Project

January 7, 201313 yr Monday for us old geezers is just another day full of the stress of indecision. Coffee in the house or carry the pot to the shop. Cut to width or plane first. Eat lunch at 11:27 or noon. Work in the shop is play and bliss.Gas heat in the shop. Need more lights, though. Gene'The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.' G. K. Chesterton
January 7, 201313 yr Work? Â Work? Â Work? Â As Gene said, for us old geezers, work is taking out the trash, work is going "shopping" with the wife, etc. Â For us, waking up in the morning with sore knees, hips, or backs is a good thing because we are awakening. Â We are on the right side of the grass. Â All the rest of the time is pure bliss - enjoying life, family and friends. Â Woodworking is a pure bonus in our lives. Â What say you Gene?Thank you supreme leader for glad tidings on this Monday morning. Â Coffee's hot, rolls buttered and heat is on in the shop. Â What a great day.Fredaka Pop's Shopwww.pops-shop.com'Soooooo many patterns - sooooo little time'Scroll Saw Forum Host
January 7, 201313 yr Knock on wood, I'm blessed with the (almost) total lack of aches and pains. Also blessed with a wife that dislikes shopping, too. Our life is so uneventful that we sometimes welcome an excuse to "go to town". Town is 16 miles away and has maybe 7000 inhabitants. Which is 6,999 more than the wife and I see every day.She quilts and does cross stitch. I putter in the shop. Pure, serene delight....most days.Coffee in the warm house today. Rip to width first. I'll worry about lunch later.Ahh, much better now that those decisions have been dealt with. Gene'The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.' January 8, 201313 yr Since I work until 10 pm it's usually midnight or later before I head to the shop except on Sunday, so getting dark early doesn't affect me, as for the cold, I just put on my insulated coveralls and if it's below 40 in there I'll turn on the heater. The only thing the cold affects for me is glueing and finishing. Can't be scared of a little cold lol . Happy Monday evening to everybody. GregSite hosthttp://www.thesawdustfactoryga.com/
