Table saws slow you down.

Featured Replies

So I'm at the Woodsmith store last night to pickup 60 bf of Red Oak and I notice the parking lot is packed.

I'm thinking I don't want to fight a crowd but go in any way. Well low and behold they are having a seminar on table saws. There are 115 people in the class room and I'm the only one in the store; had the whole place to myself. So I concluded that by not taking the time to buy, set up, take classes and build a bazillion jigs and fixtures and don't forget the time and money spent on safety equipment, dust collection and maintance of owning a table saw; I'm way ahead on time spent on projects.

Therefore tablesaws slow you down. ;~)

And my Central nervous handsaw stop system works just fine.

Nice looking saw Steve. What brand is it?

Saw plate is from a Disston.   It had one of those "newer" Plywood type handles, kind of blocky.   I picked up a cheap little Steigo ( Made in China) saw, that had a sheet metal saw blade.    I liked the handle, and like the diiston plate.   Threw out the Steigo "blade", and threw out the Disston handle.    I then combined what was left.    I had to keep the medallions from both saws.    I called it a Hybrid Saw.
