Glad you featured Herb's router table upgrade. What he's done is amazing.

And, kudos to you for the new look at the bottom of the page. It looks good and sure makes areas of the community more easily accessible.

Right Ron what happens to the slab? Would be great for a gazebo with picnic area in the orchard or tennis anyone?

My DIL gave me some orders for buttons. She want me to turn some large buttons with 2 large holes to thread fabric thru and attach to the pillows she makes. Now we will have to see how that works out.

Good chance of rain everyday this week and no subbing so maybe I can get to the lathe. Anxious to see what that flame box elder looks like.

That is why God made hotels.

You got that right, Allen! My idea of camping out is room service at the Holiday Inn!

The majority of my stock is 3/4 to 1". I do have a piece of red oak from when I built my fireplace mantle which is close to 2" thick but it is narrow about 6" wide. I will take a look when I get home but I don't think I have anything.

built a little outdoor table for mom.

24x36, CDX 3/4" plywood top (painted purple, her choice), 2x4 legs and skirting.  replaces a similar one that fell apart over time.  she likes it.  yay.

Monday.....grrrrr..about says it all.    Visited Mom in her new place.   She is staying at an assisted living house.  Seems to be doing a LOT better.    Her house ( the one I grew up in) has been invaded by termites.....they are  working to get them all killed off.

Bills have been paid, lumber has been bought.....have a bedframe project for the Boss.   Lumber is still sitting IN the van...thunderstorms in the area.    May need to buy a few more sticks...depending on what style head board she wants...

Fingertip IS healing...and hurting.   Might take a few days....

Four 2 x 10 x 8' planks have been hauled into the house.   Whew.......haven't even started to haul them to the shop...yet.  But,  at least they are out of the van.   Letting them get "used" to the house, for now.....forgot how heavy these danged things are.....even one at a time.   Glad I didn't get the 2 x 12s....

Over the weekend, I mainly recovered from hell week, part 2. Last week on the ODOT project, we removed striping Monday night, bridge joint seals on Tuesday night, permanent striping on Wednesday and Thursday nights. All said and done, I think I got less than 18 hours of sleep between Monday and Friday. Project is in cleanup and punch list mode now.

Ron, are the slabs coming out?

The whole slab for the house is coming out.  He's going to leave the front driveway though.  His oldest turns 16 soon and will leave his car there.

Who We Are

Operation Ward 57 Challenge Coin Display Project

We are a woodworking community with an emphasis on sharing and learning the skilled craft of woodworking and all of its related disciplines. Our community is open to everyone who wishes to join us. We support our American veterans and active duty, being a veteran is not a prerequisite to join. Join us now!

Objective

Air Force Command Center Plaque

Of course just like most online woodworking communities we are centralized in the arts, crafts, and trades that are woodworking. But, we have another focus in our Patriot Woodworker community, we are the only woodworking community that was founded on our care and concern for our disabled veterans.

Volunteer

Patriot Woodworker Volunteers

The Patriot Woodworkers are an all volunteer community, from the staff and hosts who run our online woodworking community to the members who frequent our forums, you'll find volunteers in all of us. We are not on a payroll, unless you consider the spiritual rewards gained from volunteering, as compensation.

Education

Logging

One of the many projects we are working on is a wiki for our online community. A wiki is a great way for woodworkers and enthusiasts to share their knowledge to others, and to impart their knowledge for others to learn from, and utilize as well for their own benefit. We hope you'll consider being a wiki contributor.
