Movie, Pizza And Beer

Recommended Posts

That sounds like a really wonderful outing Ron. Far better than the typical family outing to the theater. We don't see movies in theaters anymore, for a family of five, tickets, one drink for each child, wife and I share ours, and two big buckets of popcorn for all to share, we can't get out of there for less than 70 bucks. So we don't go.

I do miss it though, some movies were meant to be seen on the big 30 foot screens, nothing like it!

Redbox, and Roku, and our 48" tv, it does the trick for now.

Pizza and beer, a movie, dang, sounds great!

We don't do movies either, on the big screen or TV movies. Just not our thing. My wife has many sewing, crafting, knitting, etc things going. I have mine as well, so for the most part we entertain ourselves. One point we do make is.........don't watch or read the news. I liked it when they reported the news, not someone's inflated biased opinion.

A few blocks from one of our sons, some theater chain is remodeling a large ex grocery store. It will be of that type. No word yet on the food or drinks to be served, nor ticket pricing. But, I'll bet it won't be cheap. Rumor has it that they're sinking $19 million into it.

Like John, Netflix will have to suffice for us.

There are a couple of contemporary, "mega-churches" around here that have bought large movie theaters and turned them into their facilities.  So yes, the theaters must be having a hard time of it.  Though the nearest local theater has about 7 screens but each room only holds 40 -50 people and they charge $5.  Like most theaters, most of their profits come from the snack bar.

Shoot, sorry Ron, I thought you and Mrs. Altier had gone and experienced that pizza and beer. I misread the topic. But it still sounds fun!

Who We Are

Operation Ward 57 Challenge Coin Display Project

We are a woodworking community with an emphasis on sharing and learning the skilled craft of woodworking and all of its related disciplines. Our community is open to everyone who wishes to join us. We support our American veterans and active duty, being a veteran is not a prerequisite to join. Join us now!

Objective

Air Force Command Center Plaque

Of course just like most online woodworking communities we are centralized in the arts, crafts, and trades that are woodworking. But, we have another focus in our Patriot Woodworker community, we are the only woodworking community that was founded on our care and concern for our disabled veterans.

Volunteer

Patriot Woodworker Volunteers

The Patriot Woodworkers are an all volunteer community, from the staff and hosts who run our online woodworking community to the members who frequent our forums, you'll find volunteers in all of us. We are not on a payroll, unless you consider the spiritual rewards gained from volunteering, as compensation.

Education

Logging

One of the many projects we are working on is a wiki for our online community. A wiki is a great way for woodworkers and enthusiasts to share their knowledge to others, and to impart their knowledge for others to learn from, and utilize as well for their own benefit. We hope you'll consider being a wiki contributor.
