The yard received its first mowing of the year yesterday and all is right with the world. It has been a busy week here. We continue to deconstruct a house that my son bought. We're on the fourth 40 yard dumpster and making progress. The pic below shows the progress as of last Saturday but now we have the house down to bare studs. Next up for removal is the roof. Monday, we had a new HVAC system installed so the LOML can stay toasty or cool (her choice, not mine). As for shop time, I have been building a small oak bookcase for my office area. The weekend is full with a Lincoln Day dinner and a memorial service on Sunday afternoon. Of course, worship on Sunday morning. Working my 10/40 day off today, need the overtime, just got mama a new car for her birthday and still got college for the kids, Heading out the door now for work, thanks for the Friday topic Ron. Looks like you all are making wonderful progress on that ol home! What a job, hard work, cuts and bruises, and plenty of fun I bet! This weekend I'll be reorganizing my shop, errrrrr, garage now, to fit mama's new rig into, fortunately I put my table saw and workbench on wheels from the beginning so it'll be pretty easy to do, just move them to the side for the work week so she can park undercover, and I can pull her car out for the weekend and roll my TS and bench back in place. Big rock from a passing truck. 2" crack. This will be the second replacement in two years. Just over 25K miles. Among that stuff is getting the garden ready, I hope to plany tomatoes, melons and corn next week. The tomatoes and melons (plants) will be under hot caps and cold frames. But this is seriously impacting my ability to get my shop finished and the rest of the tools moved in from the basement. Sunday starts Hell Week - Misc work things to do Sunday morning, Grind/Final Lift paving starts Sunday night at 5 PM to 7AM. Should be done in 3 or 4 nights. And I have another ODOT bid due on Thursday. I see lots of Dr Pepper in my future next week. Picked up three saws at the sharpener's place.....he said "No Charge" Who am I to argue? D-8 panel saw, Richardson Bros. skew back full sized saw, and the saw for the No.75 Langdon....hard to carry all three at once. That's my shop as well with all the machines and work benches on wheels. That keeps my wife's car clean (except for the saw dust but it blows off once she starts driving). My wife had her left knee joint replaced and is recovering. We go back to the doctor on Tuesday for follow-up to get her looked at by the surgeon for her 2-week check up. She is doing good but still has some swelling but she is getting around with the walker. Being that she has cerebral palsy it will take her longer to get back to normal. Last night the roll up garage door broke a spring so I have the garage door guy coming out today to replace it. He is supposed to call me when he is heading my way but that is still a time-frame window between 9am-12pm PST. Today is mine and Tami's 34th wedding anniversary. We have been very blessed over these past 34 years as God has provided every step of the way. We celebrated by going to Disneyland on Thursday for the last time as our passes expired yesterday.
