Welcome Chips n Dust as Free For All Forum Host

Recommended Posts

Kelly.jpegIntroduction

The Patriot Woodworker staff would like to welcome @Chips N Dust to the Free For All forum as the official host. You all know Kelly, he's always quick to compliment and sharp with humor, so he's a perfect fit for the job.

What happened

Kelly volunteered for the job when we put out the call last week, and we were so glad we now have a host for this forum! There was quite a bit of work getting to this point. First @lew had to go through the long topics in "Free For All" and eliminate the content that did not fit into our family theme website community. Lew literally went through almost 2 thousand topics and posts and reviewed them for non-appropriate content. Kelly came in swiftly behind lew, and double checked the topics to ensure that lew caught them all.

Thank you lew, and Kelly, for your swift approach to getting it done, we appreciate your volunteerism in this project.

Targeted rules for this forum

Kelly will be here for anyone who may need some help getting around this forum, and he'll be at the ready to catch the occasional topic or post that may be contrary to our "Family Oriented" community. To review our new Free For All rules, please read ahead:

The rules below are posted at the top of the "Free For All" forum in case anyone needs a little reminder.

Quote

Thank you for joining us!

The Free For All forum is a place for off topic (other than woodworking) discussions. Please read these rules before posting in this forum.

  • Refrain from jokes that contain race, sexual, national origins, or posting of images and cartoons that contain such items.
  • Foul language is never appropriate, please do not post it in text format nor in image or cartoon attachments.
  • Commenting on sexual orientation in a negative manner is not permitted.
  • Sexists commentary or jokes are not permitted (blonde jokes, etc, you get the point)
  • Offensive content or content that goes against the above rules, will be removed without warning, you may get an explanation if time permits, but not always.
  • Political commentary is not allowed.

These are the basic rules, just keep it classy, and keep it tame, we are a family website, we want people from all walks of life and all age levels to feel comfortable here.

These rules will always be subject to change as needs arise.

In closing

So, thank you again Kelly for coming aboard, and thank you Lew for the mop up!

I don't want anyone feeling like they messed up with the Free For All forum, it's not anyone's fault, we did not have clear guidelines for what is inappropriate, so many would not have known what was not acceptable, but now we hope with the new guidelines in place, you'll all be better stewards of this community, and keep it clean, and keep it fun.

Thank you for being here!

Does he get to use the company jet for personal stuff? That would surely be the frosting on the, er, donut.

That's way above his pay grade Fred.

Who We Are

Operation Ward 57 Challenge Coin Display Project

We are a woodworking community with an emphasis on sharing and learning the skilled craft of woodworking and all of its related disciplines. Our community is open to everyone who wishes to join us. We support our American veterans and active duty, being a veteran is not a prerequisite to join. Join us now!

Objective

Air Force Command Center Plaque

Of course just like most online woodworking communities we are centralized in the arts, crafts, and trades that are woodworking. But, we have another focus in our Patriot Woodworker community, we are the only woodworking community that was founded on our care and concern for our disabled veterans.

Volunteer

Patriot Woodworker Volunteers

The Patriot Woodworkers are an all volunteer community, from the staff and hosts who run our online woodworking community to the members who frequent our forums, you'll find volunteers in all of us. We are not on a payroll, unless you consider the spiritual rewards gained from volunteering, as compensation.

Education

Logging

One of the many projects we are working on is a wiki for our online community. A wiki is a great way for woodworkers and enthusiasts to share their knowledge to others, and to impart their knowledge for others to learn from, and utilize as well for their own benefit. We hope you'll consider being a wiki contributor.
